Legal AuthorityMy Job Search Journey
Note:
My Job Search Journey On Tuesday, September 25, 2008, I received a mail from the CEO of Legal Authority, Harrison Barnes. I can never forget that day which was the start of what I would regard as one of most effective success stories in the life an attorney. As an experienced attorney, I was tired of searching for jobs by traditional means. I turned to Legal Authority on Harrison’s suggestion. The company offered direct marketing service for legal professionals. Here are few excerpts from my diary of career success: September 25: I filled out the sign-up form on the Legal Authority website. September 27: I received a phone call from Suzanne, an employment advocate. She gave an honest assessment of my market value, and together, we short listed about 500 legal employer contacts from across California. October 2: I received a new resume and covering letter, which looked much more professional. October 5: I mailed out my documents to all 500 employer contacts and waited. October 10-22:

A-Harrison-Barnes-EmploymentCrossing-Review2
Note:
I am a nervous, shy, and simple girl who has just completed her studies, in the field of fashion designing. I love creating new designs, and have been quite impromptu with them. I passed out with good marks but there was no avenue open, as the market is grim and Dad is forcing me to join his company and assist him. As the days passed, Dad grew increasingly impatient with me, and that made me nervous and sad that I eventually will have to give way to my Dad’s wishes and strangle my own, if I don’t get a decent job. EmploymentCrossing, created by Harrison Barnes, consolidates all jobs from all sources at one place. I liked the concept as soon as my friend told me about it. .The site is literally like a big warehouse full of jobs where you get everything you seek at one single location. Another thing unique about the job site is that it allows free job posting for employers. Harrison Barnes says in his blog that he feels that this business model works the best in favor of job seekers

Harrison Barnes:LawCrossing Review
Note:
I have been an avid reader of Harrison Barnes’ blogs. His writings are a great source of inspiration to me, as I am myself an upcoming attorney. I relate to his experiences. Some days ago, I found out that Barnes has a site named LawCrossing. I immediately opened the site and started browsing out of curiosity. This is what I found there.LawCrossing is a business that consists of the largest collection of legal job openings in the world, right on its website. According to the site, they have reviewed job openings of over 250,000 legal employers meticulously in order to make all pertinent information available to their users. The unique point about LawCrossing is that these job openings are not sourced only from employers. Jobs from corporations, government offices, think tanks, and public interest organizations all over the United States are fair game as well. Charging for job listings is not a practice that LawCrossing engages in, as they feel it would most likely skew the selection
